About Us

As Ray Queen neared retirement from Avondale Mill in Walhalla, SC, he started to plan for what he was going to do afterwards—and his son Howard was on board to help him. When a friend of Ray’s decided to sell his septic tank business, it seemed like a perfect opportunity. Ray purchased the business—which included one truck and a phone number—in December,1989. Ray and Howard started operating in January,1990 and ran the business from Ray’s home in Mountain Rest. It quickly became a family affair as Ray's wife Sue added her many great qualities to the office. Ray retired a few years later and worked full-time with the company.

Being from a small community in Mountain Rest, the Queen family centered the business around helping their neighbors and providing a reliable service at a reasonable price.

 

While attending an Expo in Nashville, TN in 1992, we purchased 24 portable toilets and added another service line to the business. In the many years following, we have added additional rental products including hand wash stations, holding tanks, handicap accessible units, and restroom trailers.

After growing up helping her grandmother in the office, Howard’s daughter Cassie joined the business in 2015.

What started out as a family of three has grown to include 17 employees, including 6 full-time route drivers covering three counties. We hope to continue the tradition with future generations!
